How do you help others?

There are different ways of helping others. You can donate toys, donate food or donate money. You can also buy things in charity shops or organise a fundraising event. As you see, there are plenty of options to help. What I’m about to tell you now is how I have helped others.

I have worked as a volunteer in a dog’s shelter for four years, many, many years ago. I used to clean the cages and feed and walk the dogs.

I have participated in several sportive fundraising events, raising money for different causes. I have run for Cancer Research, for Sport Relief and for British Heart Foundation. I have also run The Royal Parks Half Marathon for Waiter Aid, and I was able to raise 500 pounds for countries which lack drinkable water. In addition, I have swum a swimathon for Sport Relief and I swam 5000 metres! It took me two hours to do it!

I have also done some volunteer teaching. I went to Bali two years ago and I taught English to the local children in a non-profit organisation called IHF. I gave English lessons, read stories and prepared different craft activities. We had a lot of fun and it was a fantastic experience.
